Well hello again everyone! I’ve been taking a little bit of a break from blogging and focusing my efforts on some other fun projects. Lately I’ve been working on more and more photography and design projects, which I absolutely LOVE, and a little time away from the computer has helped me really delve into these projects, like my latest Mixbook design.
And now I’m thrilled to share my second Mixbook design with you (check out my first book here)! This book is designed as a year in review book. Basically it’s just a way to put together a beautiful photo book to document the highlights of your year. The designs I created for this book include quite a few different hand drawn backgrounds and stickers that you can move around and customize as much as you’d like. Or if you want to put your book together quickly, you can stick to the layout of my book and just click and drag to add your own photos.
I REALLY love how this design turned out. I think that the pastel colors look really beautiful with the gold accents. And I created the hand lettered navy, white, and gold words and phrases with a paint brush and gouache. There is also a “shine bright” sort of theme to the book. A lot of the backgrounds include patterns of hand drawn stars and a lot of the phrases fit in with that theme as well.
Since it’s a year in review book, there are a lot of seasonal themed stickers and phrases as well. I think the Christmas ones are my favorite. But of course when you are customizing your own book you can also pick and choose whichever stickers you want to include.
I also took the designs of 6 of the backgrounds I created for Mixbook and turned them into free iPhone wallpapers. (I actually sized them specifically for the iPhone but you can easily use them on any device.)
