So my kids are seriously obsessed with sand art, and I think I might be a little bit too! There is something so fun about filling something with different layers of colorful sand, and creating different patterns and shapes. And even though a lot of sand art projects are really geared just towards kids, I think these sand art planters are perfect for kids and adults. Lyla had a lot of fun helping me out with this project. She’s 5 years old and she loves doing everything by herself, so I gave her the supplies and explained what to do, and I sat back and took pictures of her working. I love how serious she is about it – it’s adorable. This project really is simple enough for a 5 year old to do by themselves, but they’ll probably need a little help at the very end.
Lyla wanted to make a rainbow planter (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree haha) and I LOVE how it turned out. These sand art planters would make great gifts, or they even look great just as home decor. This would also be a fun activity to do on a play date, with cousins, or on a rainy day.
I made a black and white striped planter that turned out beautifully, as well as one that was pink, purple, and white.
What about you – what colored sand art planters would you make?
