Hi there! I’m Chelsea and I blog at Making Home Base. Making Home Base is a little blog about my love for creating a “home base” for my family. If you visit my blog you’ll see that I love inexpensive and quick little projects and I’m thrilled to be sharing one today! Christmastime is such a fun time of year and it’s a great time for homemade crafts. I made some really cute stamped log slice ornaments and they are perfect to hang on the tree, use as gift tags, or anything else you could possibly imagine!
Stamped Log Slice Ornaments
The supplies are really minimal: you’ll need a birch log cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick, alphabet stamps, stamp pad, twine for hanging.
A quick note about the birch logs, I picked up some birch firewood from my local hardware store and it had several small but full logs (not chopped into pieces).
After the log has been cut into slices approximately 1/4 inch thick. Drill a hole for stringing the twine. Repeat with as many slices as you desire.
Here’s the fun part! Stamping! I cut about 10 slices to use as ornaments for my tree. I even left a few blank which ended up looking really rustic and beautiful. Of course you can get creative and use whatever sayings
you’d like.
I stamped a few Christmas words like “noel” “be merry” “Merry Christmas.” I also included one with our name on it and looking back I wish I would have included the year (I’ll have to go back and do that). So many years from now I can ponder the exact year I made that ornament. Won’t that be fun?
Lastly, thread your twine through the hole you previously drilled and you have the perfect little ornament!
You can whip up a dozen of these in no time flat! Enjoy!
I have several other quick holiday decor ideas I’d love to share with you. You can browse them here.
Happy, happy holidays!

These are great! They look a lot like the ones I did for all my family last year, but I used a wood burner. I made some this year too and am so happy with out they came out! Cheers!
