Lately, I’ve been a little obsessed with making different kinds of gift boxes. So when I came across these pyramid shaped DIY gift boxes, I knew I had to make some.
These are so simple to make, because Sassafras has generously provided a free printable template.
Print the template onto the inside of an 8.5 by 11 piece of card stock. Cut out the shape and carefully score along the inside lines. (Use the tip of a pair of scissors like a pencil and trace along the lines. Be sure to not cut all the way through the paper). Punch little holes in each triangle. Now fold all of the pieces and use a thin ribbon to tie the pieces together. You don’t need to use any glue or tape. The little box holds together perfectly.
These little boxes are easy to open and close, and would be perfect for a little Mother’s Day gift like earrings or a necklace. They are easy to reuse and a great thing to have on hand for last minute gifts.
Darling boxes!

I made some of these using 12 pack soda boxes. I had to trace the pattern, but they turned out great. Thanks!!
Love these gift boxes. I too like to make my own. I've recently made a gift box that looks like a mini handbag, see http://how-to-be-a-bad-artist.com/craft-techniques/handbag-giftbox/. I've created a free template. Enjoy
Sweet little boxes and so easy to make! Thanks for sharing π
I made these, filled them up with candies and gave them as return gifts for my son's 1st birthday party and it was a HIT !! Thanks a lot for the idea π
What a great idea! I'm glad they were a hit. I can see how kids would love them, especially if they were filled with candy π
Yeah! But I have to say, I made these (they were adorable) and I could only put in a few Hershey’s kisses for my friend’s birthday because of the tabs inside! It turned out fine though, I made a couple. It’s super easy and cute, thank you!
yes π
Love these. Thanks for sharing.
this is so lovely and great idea..thanks for sharing.going to pin it…
Thank you! I was at work and needed a quick "box" for a gift. I used the template over a full-sheet print of flowers and it turned out great. This will be a "go to" for me for now on. THANK YOU
That sounds so cute. I love these boxes! They're a little small, but they are so easy and fun. They are my go-to too π
I am looking for an easy-to-fold paper gift box/shape to put a little gift in, and I think I've found it! Definitely bookmarking this page!
Thank you for sharing, such a great idea as gifts for the children in my class! I shall be making little Christmas boxes to put chocolate in for them…30 to make! π
Love these boxes and looks so easy to make. Thanks for sharing.
What a cute idea!
May I know where you bought your textured paper?
I got it at either Joann's or Michael's, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it at both. It's with the 8.5 by 11 cardstock, but some of the packs are labelled textured.
Love these and have just shared on my Facebook page.
My Miss 14 loves to put together little wee Christmas presents for her Best friends, close School friends, the 'odd' teacher etc…we keep the cost down pretty low but over the years she has sorted out some really cute wee clusters of wee things…so these will be perfect to make them even more special.
Thanks

I just came across your instructions and loved these. Thanks for the template! I had made a pair of these to hang as decoration in a vintage bird cage and they came out really cute.
I experimented with making a bunch of these at about a quarter of the size so I could hang them in between bunting flags for our fireplace. I think they'll be really cute at a tiny size but thought I'd tell you that when I printed out the tiny version and got it all scored and ready to close up with the string, I realized that if I let the points just stay open and point upwards, they look like little crowns! So I may hang them from the bunting like that. Haven't tried it yet but I think it will work and if not, then the pyramids will be great too. Thanks again for sharing your craft!
So simple and so cute! Thx!
