#9 - Family Ever After {The 13 Crafts of Christmas}

I’m excited to be here today! It was fun when I found this blog– it was because Rachel and I both discovered that not only do we have the same name, but we have the same initials, and they are cool because they rhyme. Rach H.

Today I’m to sharing one of my favorite things to blog about, and that is crafting with my kids. I have 3 little ones, and just like their mama, they love to craft. So here are a couple Christmas kid decorations we made out of paper plates.

This Santa plate was a great project because gluing on all those cotton balls took a while! I love it when we find a craft that lasts for more than 5 minutes. Here’s how you can make one if you’ve got kiddos around:

Supplies:

paper plate

kid friendly paint

cotton balls

glue and q-tip

red paper

googly eyes

puff ball

Steps:

The steps are probably pretty self-explanatory, but here are a few tips.

We mixed white and orange to get the right color for Santa’s face. Of course you can make it darker or lighter according to what kind of Santa your kids are used to!

After painting the plate, add the eyes and nose, it will bring the project to life for your child as s/he decorates.

Then, cut out a hat shape and help your child place it.

Last, the cotton ball decorating begins. You could also use pieces of cotton for the eyebrows and a mustache.
