Hello Lines Across my Face readers!! I’m Brittany from My Decoupaged Life and I’m so excited to be here!
A little about me:
I’m a stay at home mom of a 2 year old little girl with one more on the way! I feel like life is like a cardboard box. It looks ok and it does the job. But, add a little decoupaged paper, though, and you’ve got something much prettier! So here I am, decoupaging my life, learning and growing, and adding some pretty paper to make life (at least for me) a little more beautiful!
Today I’m going to be sharing my tutorial on this fabulous and easy glittering snowflake wreath:
Since I live in Houston we don’t actually really get snow here so it’s fun to imagine. Having lived in Utah for eight years I got used to it. Oh well, at least I get to start in the spring while it’s still snowing everywhere else right? 🙂 Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
- Wreath form
- White streamers
- wooden snowflake shapes of various sizes
- spray glitter
- white or light (As in you can barely tell) pink
- hot glue gun
Step 1: First you need to make your wreath. I had already made my wreath (like years ago) so I don’t have pictures. But I have a great tutorial here on how to make crepe paper roses. It’s super easy. Just cover your wreath with them.
Step 2: Spray paint your snowflakes. I know the pink isn’t in the supply picture but I decided after I took the picture that I wanted the snowflakes to stand out a little bit. I had this really soft pink spray paint sitting in my garage so I used that. When it dried I shot them with a light coat of white primer: not enough to cover just to soften it a bit more. Let dry.
Step 3: When the snowflakes have dried spray both them and the wreath with glitter. I made the glitter on the snowflakes a little more concentrated. Let dry.
Step 4: Arrange your snowflakes on your wreath how you want them. I really liked the different sizes so I could add them on top of each other for a more 3D look. Hot glue them in place.
Step 5: If you want extra security you can add a little piece of string to the back of the top of the wreath to keep in from falling off the door. Then hang in place and admire your work!
Thanks so much Rachel for letting me come and craft with you! And be sure to come visit me over at My Decoupaged Life for lots more tutorials!
