This is a very quick and simple embroidery and button project.
{Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly}
Remember to iron your fabric (if needed) BEFORE you start sewing on buttons and letters. I learned this the hard way.
First I picked out the frame I wanted to use… a cheap Ikea frame. I used the piece of plastic to lightly trace a rectangle on the fabric.
Then I put the fabric into an embroidery hoop. I placed the buttons and lightly marked where they would go. I also lightly drew out the word somewhere.
Then I sewed on the buttons, the letters, and the birds.
There are two ways I considered framing this.
1. Cut the fabric to fit the frame exactly. Tape or glue it to the cardboard back.
2. Do not trim the fabric. Instead wrap it around the plastic/glass front of the frame. This is the way I ended out using because I wanted the fabric to poof out just a little bit instead of laying perfectly flat.
