The funny thing about vacations when you are a mother is that they are actually more work. They are a lot of fun, but seriously vacationing is EXHAUSTING!
Fortunately, vacation is hard work for kids too. This means that they are so tired that they sleep well even in a strange new place.
We spent only seven surprisingly uneventful hours on the road. The highlight of the trip was getting these yellow stacking cups in a Wendy’s happy meal (Just to clarify, B rarely eats fast food and he gets chicken nuggets, fruit instead of fries, and milk). Jam played with these for at least an hour. He even shared some of them with Lyla.
Of course, Oo-Oo got to come along in the car with us. Lyla got to have Benjamin’s elephant Baroo (who may be her favorite). Oh how I love nap time!
It has been great spending time with my cousins. Benjamin learned to climb up and down stairs by himself (we spent about 2 hours today going up and down over and over again) and he discovered his LOVE for the piano.
Jam started out cautious, using only one hand at a time… or even only one finger at a time.
Then he got a little braver, reaching down to hit the lowest notes, and reaching up to hit the high ones.
I may be a little biased, but Jam has a really good sense of the piano. He watches you carefully and imitates what you do. He seems to have a good sense of music and is surprisingly coordinated with his toddler hands. I wish we had a piano at home. I feel like there are a lot of fun learning activities you could do with the piano.
Tomorrow we are off to Charlotte to visit more family and friends.

Vacations are so exhausting for mamas! I giggled a little at your description of the fast food- no judgement here- I didn't think I'd give my boys fast food… yeah, and then you find out just how easy it is!
